ACS Speaker Service 

Otis and Jim are volunteer speakers for the American Chemical Society's Speaker Service. Our presentations fall into three related areas - Chemistry Outreach; Chemistry Demonstrations; General Chemistry Curriculum. Currently, we have three active presentations:

• Is It Chemistry or Magic? - Presentation for General Audiences and/or Chemists
• Really Simple Chemical Demonstrations - Presentation for Chemistry Teachers
• Six Points of Chemical History That Belong in the Curriculum. - Presentation for Chemistry Teachers

"Is It Chemistry or Magic?" is an outreach presentation that is often used by local ACS sections as a public offering on family night or on other special occasions. It is also used as an outreach workshop for chemists. Really Simple Chemical Demonstrations is a presentation designed for educators and other chemists with an interest is simple approaches to outreach. Six Points of Chemical History That Belong in the Curriculum is a lecture/demonstration presentation designed for chemical educators. The presentation message is about the general chemistry curriculum. The medium for this message is chemical history and chemical demonstrations.
